Art, Science or Forensics - 30 works on paper by Bob Lloyd

Shotgun Studios Spokane is excited to announce an exhibition of 30 works on paper by BobLloyd that will be shown from October 11 - November 28, 2024. “Art, Science or Forensics" is not just an exhibition but a catalyst for conversation. It invites participants to transcend the 'us versus them' mentality and to envision a world where differences are celebrated rather than feared. Through a blend of artistic expression, scientific exploration, and forensic scrutiny, it seeks to inspire both individual introspection and collective action towards a  more unified and equitable society.

Artist Reception, Saturday October 12, 1-3pm

Replacing the Friday night reception, Mr. Lloyd has planned a unique opportunity to learn about his artistic intent called “Fun with Art, Science, and Forensics.”  He will give an overview of the exhibition and challenge the participants to share their thoughts triggered by the work.  He will also offer interactive exploration with AI by breaking the fear barrier surrounding this new medium.  Bob has been exploring the use of AI for creative expression and incorporating AI tools in his work since 2021.

“This exhibition invites viewers on a journey through the intricate tapestry of human experience, as seen through the lenses of creativity, empirical analysis, and societal critique. It challenges the audience to question the lines drawn between different cultural and social groups, while exploring the potential for harmony and understanding.” Artist statement by Robert Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, completing an MFA in Design and Photography. In 1974 he began teaching photography, and later digital imaging, at Eastern Washington University where he supported the Chicano Education Program, Black Studies programs, Women’s Studies and the Native American program.  He retired in 2004 after 30 years
