Audreana Camm

Originally from a remote town in the mountains of Idaho, Audreana journeyed to Spokane as a young adult with the intention of becoming an artist.

A prolific creator, for over a decade she has publicly displayed and sold her work through first Friday shows all over town, even releasing multiple new series per year. She has also worked diligently since 2014 teaching public art classes at pinots palette by night, sharing her love of creating with others.

“That part of my art life is really half creating, and half performance art. It’s a paint and sip, so I’m on stage almost every night in front of 50 or so people who have never painted. I mix in a fair amount of stand up comedy. People begin nervous and you tell a little joke it creates a sense of levity. By the end of the class they see the value in what they made, and people who maybe have never considered making art are walking now away with something they find meaningful. Maybe they realize the challenge creators face more and become people who invest in local art and the lives of artists. “

Her own acrylic paintings are very different. Most of them are deeply personal surrealist dreamscapes that are inspired by her strange dreams and sleep paralysis experiences .” I see them as messages from the ether, or the spiritual realm if you will, sent to my subconscious's I like to try to bring them to life to share. It has been interesting hearing others interpretations of the art work. It makes me feel connected to people even more; which for me is the point of art, connection, and self expression. There is art in all things.”
